The Masseria dei Gelsi is situated in Contrada Colle Sant’Angelo in  Moscufo, three kilometres far from Pianella, in a very comfortable position, located in the center of the Provincia of Pescara close to many location, the National Museum of Chieti, the Genti d’Abruzzo Museum of Pescara and D’ Annunzio family house also in Pescara. (both Pescara and Chieti can be reached in 15 minutes driving). Here it follows a list of the most important location to visit in the surroundings.
Torre de' Passeri (15 km)

Famous for S. Clemente a Casauria Abbey, built in 871  a very ancient Benedictine Monastery.

Serramonacesca (30 km)
One of the most important Mediaeval heritance, built by Benedictines, include the cot of Sant' Onofrio, the sleeping place of the saint where pilgrims continue the tradition of ritual rubbing.

Caramanico (30 km)

The most renowned thermal spa in Abruzzo with beautiful Mediaeval churches in its historical centre.

Picciano (18 km)

Where to visit the Museum of traditional peasants arts


Penne (15 km)
With several Romanic churches  (S. Agostino Cathedral and   S. Maria in Colleromano) one of the most well restored historic centre of the Region.

Spoltore (12 km)
Famous for the San Francesco  Convento  built in baroque style


Pianella (3 km)

The most interesting church is Santa Maria Maggiore, known also as  S. Angelo, an ancient Romanic church.

Moscufo (5 km)

A real treasure of mediaeval art, the church of di Santa Maria del Lago, built in  IX century.

HOW TO REACH US 

BY CAR – coming from north or south along the railway A-14, follow the direction Pescara – Roma A-25 (between Pescara North and Pescara West) , direction Rome, exit Villanova.

At the toll exit turn left, direction Pescara, and after 2 km, at Santa Teresa, turn again left (there is a redlight) direction Pianella. From the redlight, always follow the direction Pianella, you will reach the Masseria dei Gelsi after 8 km on your left. 

Coming from Rome, along the railway A-24, follow the direction Pescara-Avezzano, exit Villanova (the toll following Pescara-Chieti) and follow he above-mentioned directions.

BY TRAIN – The closer railway stations  (10 km far) are Pescara Centrale (along the  Milano-Bari trail) and Chieti (along Roma-Pescara trail). 

BY BUS – The Masseria is along the bus trail of the Pescara-Pianella line. Buses leave every hour from central bus station.

BY AIRPLANE – The very close Pescara Airport (15 km far) is very well connected by daily flights from Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate, Rome Fiumicino, Turin, Frankfurt, London and by weekly flights from Paris, New York, Barcelona, Bruxelles, Munich, Split, Bucarest and Tirana.
